Pistolpete Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 (edited) Hello ha people I seemed to have inherited the scooby it was my wifes (scoobykel) but i think she has got bored of it, waiting to warm it up etc etc i knew it would not last so she has nicked my audi S4 never mind i was missing my jap madness (i have had a very modded mk1 mr2 supercharger 280 hp in a car weighing as much as a shoe ) and a 550hp supra then my littel one daisy may came along and i got all sensible with my audi s4 and kel sellling her golf for the scooby as you may know it is a wrx sti type ra on a n plate First thing first now i am taking over the car there are a few things i want done the first was brakes which i got a set of 4 pots from scooby clinic miles better i now need a full service cam belt change and i think in need of a remap it hesitates on full boost but have noticed boost has been raised to 1.1bar we got the car as a fresh import with 63k KM on the clock so anything done to it was done in Jap land also it only ever runs good on tesco 99ron iwas thinking of having it done at scooby clinic but they are 4 hours away... is there anyone else more local and what are TDi in lakeside like reliable any one used them??? or any one else recommeneded?? also anyone else with a early RA what sort of speed is safe to sit on a motorway with the early ra gearbox with out causing damage with sitting with revs too high for too long?? also runs rough on motorway i think where it needs a remap again. cheer many thanks hope some of ya see me saw a nice scoob at canterbury the other week parked in morrisons/halfords/mothercare car park i parked about 3 bays down you cannot miss it also very hacked off as kel took the scoob to work teh other day and someone very kindly decided to drive down the rear wing - oh what lovely people at christmas- - any one recommend one of the dent master people???? only small dent but enought to annoy as car was immaculate will get some more pics up 2morrow but here is what we have done to the car so far as we picked up the car as it is now will get the inbetween pics up for anyone interested Edited January 3, 2008 by Pistolpete

Pele Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Hi there, nice lookin scoob, Pele has a type RA, have a chat with her reference speeds etc.Simon is good at what he does catch up with ya soon I tend to keep it about 70 because I can't hear myself think otherwise lol, unless of course someone comes alongside and winds me up then give it enough of a boot to get past them then go back to sitting at 70 lol. Can't afford the fuel bill otherwise - I also only run mine on V power, it ran awful on Tesco's. If it's not been de limited you can only go up to 112mph anyway, mines still limited at the mo, as I was advised to upgrade the oil pump before I did that. Apparently the RA oil pump has a tendency to have a valve get stuck open and floods the engine with oil then a nice rebuild is needed. Another thing to check if it's hesitating, and what was the main cause of my problems, is the earth to the fuel pump which is located under the back seat. Check the connector box, mine had melted at some point in its life and although the power wire had been reconnected outside the box, the earth had been left in and had been slowly deteriorating which was causing the hesitating, finally leading to complete loss of power. Hope this is of some help Pele
