Trip To France 2008

Happy New Year everyone. Yes, I know its only 2 January but I've just been looking through the Clubs event list for this year and theres not a lot of gaps for our annual trip to France. Without screwing up a Sunday event, the only totally free Saturdays seem to be 7 June, 5 July and 2 August. I've asked Pele to add these provisional dates to the diary so at least everyone is aware that a trip is planned sometime.

I was wondering though if (rather than setting out at 5:30 in the morning for a day trip) there would be interest in leaving say mid-morning and driving from the Shuttle to pre-booked accommodation for an evening meal and stop-over. The drivers amongst us would then be able to relax and have a drink as well. We would then leave after breakfast on the Sunday for a leisurely drive back for an afternoon / early evening Shuttle.

Perhaps I could ask whether there would be interest in the short weekend option or if you'd prefer to keep it to the existing format?

Merci beaucoup mon amis.

Hi BASER.

Depending on which weekend. Jazz Jill and Scooby Hoo? would like to join your little band of brothers.

Let all scooby owners who don't count themselves part of this band forever think themselves accursed, as we few we merry few, sorry brain surge :hello: Will get the Longbow and Yew arrows out.

count us in!!

A stop over would be great as the long day is a little tiring.

Got anywhere in mind where to go and stop over this year Barry?

Not a great deal of response to this at the moment ;) so may be a non-starter, in which case it'll be down to a day trip

Granby has kindly pointed out that he'll be taking us all down to the seaside again for his birthday on Sunday 3 August so we're down to the 7 June or 5 July for the trip. If we're seriously looking at making this a Saturday/Sunday trip we're going to have to make a decision soon especially from the viewpoint of getting accommodation sorted. Could I propose that we run a list until the end of the month FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN STOPPING OVER. If theres clearly not enough interest , a seperate thread, with all the usual details, will be started for a day trip.

Baser999...........either date

B)Doesn't seem to be a lot of interest for a stop-over so looks like we're just on a day trip. Will get the map out and in due course post up a seperate thread with date, times and such like
