Is there a caliper release tool needed??? my reson for asking is i have just relined the brakes on my van but i needed a special release tool to squeeze and rotate the pistons. Thanks

scoob fae ork Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Hi mate if you look at your caliper there is 2 pins that hold the pads in on these pins are 2 R pins if you remove them you can then remove the main pins once you have done this remove the steel plate and then your pads should just lift out if there sticky its just a case of work at them with pliers till they come out the top. As for your Calipers there is 2 bolts on the back of the hub remove them and the caliper will lift off .
