gambler Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Heading up to knockhill tomorrow from dumfries. Usually head up the devils beeftub road from moffat. Great warm up. Do any of the locals know how long it will take to get over the Forth Road Bridge? Usually only ever cross the bridge 1st thing in the morning on the way to knockhill. No idea how busy it will be about the back of 10 Thanks in advance. Will hopefully see some of you guys at knockhill Scott
dark Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Should be clear, all the roadworks on the bridge are now finished. The new A8000 replacement is also open which takes you around in a loop from the M9 at Newbridge to join the A90 just before the bridge. Have a safe trip, Mark
gambler Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 Thanks mate. Checked the traffic scotland website. Thought it would be a bit safer with a bit of local knowladge. Scott
andy Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Why would you want to go from Dumfries to Knockhill via the Forth Bridge? Once through Glasgow, M80, A80, M876, Kincardine Bridge (despite the works it's still relatively hassle free on a Saturday) take the slip road into Kincardine, turn left at the traffic lights onto the A977. Carry on to the second to roundabout (first roundabout isn't a real roundabout as it's still being built) and it's signposted from there. Way shorter than going all the way across to Edinburgh.
