Handbrake Light

Hi

On my 96 WRX import every so often (pretty much 90%) of the time the handbrake light remains lit after taking off the handbrake. At first I thought it was just a sticky switch at the back of the handbrake handle but last night the light came on whilst driving. I checked all my brake fluids today and they are full. Any ideas as I'm very confused

could just be a sticky switch, or one thats broken down inside, I perhaps the spring has gone in it... I'm sure its an easy fix...
