4x4 Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Hi Guys Used to go to the old forum did not realise till today had to resign up so thought id better get that sorted oot. Used to be called Boner and my Subaru is a Jap import Wagon. Was going to get rid of the car too buy a landrover but bought that anyways and kept the car as i just cant sell it now i have one so its sat under a car cover only to be started and drove backwards and forwards in my drive for the last 6 months or so. I have it booked into PDC motors for its MOT and just wondering anyhting i should look out for as im going to give it a good going over this weekend. Evrything seems fine from what i can tell but i aint no expert. Really worried about all these cars that fail on emmsions but nothing of that mentioned when it got maajor service at subaru in penecuik last year and covered less than 500 miles since then. Really cant afford a bad failure as tax time of year so im short as it is. Any info or advice would be greatly appriciated. Cheers
thefastone Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Well as for the MOT, I cant really give you any really good advice there, as mot wise, these are much the same as any other car... But I can suggest something to do with your tax.... Buy a 6 month tax this once... I know that it makes it a tiny bit more expensive for the 6 month tax, but at least it slpits up the tax and MOT, which really, are the expensive bits... My car came with 6 month road tax, and its great not having to pay them both at the same time...

4x4 Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 Oi i been doing that lat copule o years. Run a vana nd a 4x4 aswell so servacing and mot times not including tax can be right expensive. On a good note ahd the subaru oot for a run today and she deffiantly seems to be running very well, the battery was all but dead but charged it up nicly on the run i gave her. No lncoks bangs or pops and got the fog light adviced by the garage as its an import. Fingers crossed booked in for tomorow so see what happens. Cheers anyways
