We at Kai Performance are looking for a lead mechanic. Qualifications are not neccesary but EXPERIENCE is. You MUST be at a level where you can confidently and competently :- Diagnose Faults Complete Engine rebuilds Servicing Engine Transplants Clutches,Cambelts, Headgaskets Turbos and Superchargers We are all about power, speed, handling and the odd monster truck or prestige bentley. Oh and we also do performance and custom motorbikes too but you do not need to know anything about bikes. We are based in Aylesford Maidstone for those of you who do not know us. This position is on a self employed basis. You will be paid weekly and the responsibility of tax and ni will be down to you. I would be careful about stating the position is self employed, as there is a major crack down by the Inland Revenue regarding this issue (due to employers not wishing to pay employees NI contributions). I myself am tied up on this, but from the other perspective. It is very clear if you are fulfilling conditions of employment regardless of what terms or contract you state. Mark
baser999 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 From my old Revenue / Accountancy days one of the main factors they looked at was whether there was a "Master / Servant" relationship. Clearly if you've only the one source of employment and you're under that persons control whilst at work, that is to say they bring in the business and you undertake it under their control, its very difficult to argue you are self-employed, regardless of how that employer treats you.
