Jap Import Help - Speed Restriction

Hi,

Question for those people who have bought import cars and had to do all the conversion work themselves.

I have just purchased a 2001 WRX Tiptronic Jap import.

It has had all the change overs done to comply with UK standards e.g. Fog Light.

The speedo is now in MPH as well but the speed is still restricted to around the 115 mark.

How much should I be paying to have this restriction lifted?

I have just been quoted 120 pounds for a well respected outfit in warrington cheshire.

I live within cheshire.

Any help or recommendations would be greatly received with this.

I have no idea of the cost but if you phone Steve at CAS 0151 328 1438 i'm sure he will give you an honest answer. Let him know your part of CADS

No it was actually Car Planet. They have their own tunning sector too.

I will also give RC a look into too. nice one!

No probs. Never used RC Developments as they are more geared towards the Evo and CAS is more convenient for me but they know what they're doing regards tuning etc.

Only just got my first scoob two weeks ago. Feels like me and 'The Widow Maker' were seperated at birth!

Are Christopher Neils any good. Few people round Northwich reckon they misbehave?

I personally have no idea or opinion on them coz I've never dealt with them.

I used to take my Lotus there but never been impressed with the service to be honest so don't use them for the Scoob. They left bolts hand tightened once. Luckily it was just the aluminium pannels at the bottom of the car but only realised when they started rattling - Maybe they were having a bad day & it was a very isolated insodent

Never used or have any intention of using them for the Scoob. Asked for a quote not long back for 30K service and they came in at 2x the price of CAS but what you'd expect off a main dealer.

Worth a call though if your stuck. Especially if just wanting some info :( :lol:
