Gearbox Problems :(

ok....my mates got a 1996 sti coupe with a stage 3 engine conversion...it also has the limited slip diff option.

now hes just picked the car up from a timing belt change .....and the gearbox and clutch have gone!!!

been told that the limited diff gearboxes are rare as fuk to get hold of.....so will any other box fit and just do away with the diff option?

any help and codes of suitable gearboxes , would be much appreciated.

I take it it's a type r with dccd (driver controlled centre diff). If so it is prob hard to get a full box but may not be too expensive to get his repaired and i know someone with a set of gears for one. PM me and i'll get you the info on the gears and put you onto a couple of good box builders.
