Brake advice

Looking to gather info from those in the know.....

On braking getting vibration through the steering wheel - getting the brakes checked out later this week but reckon it's warped discs (which on a 22k miles / 3 year old car seems kinda soon to me). I have a 2004 WRX, standard set up.

In advance want to know what can be fitted in their place. I am not heavy on the brakes and it's for road use only. Should I go with :

New Subaru discs with uprated pads ?

or

Uprated discs with uprated pads ?

What discs and pads would be best option, budget needs to be kept in mind (just forked out for insurance last week!)

Cheers in advance

I'd go option one if you are on a budget and not too heavy on brakes - Ferrodo DS2500 pads or Pagid RS 4.2.1 or even EBC Red Stuff Ceramic.  DOn't bother with Subaru pads.

Next step - get Goodridge braided lines and new 5.1 fluid fitted - less than £100 all in for the stuff.

I've opted for OE discs, Ferodo DS2500 pads, braided hoses and some Dot 5.1 Fluid.

Or try Alyn at AS Performance. A really nice guy and very helpful with advice. Tell him what your wanting from your brakes and he'll see you all right :o

Been surfin about this afternoon checking prices etc :

Goodridge hoses - £61.10 to £68.   5.1 fluid about £5

Pagid pads around £125. EBC red pads £78 to £89. Ferodo DS2500 £125 -to £165 (not sure if the £125 was right??)

EBC discs were around £200.  Subaru discs were around £200 to £235.

Who are you using for mintex1144 pads blue dragon ? Think Mintex do discs too??

That's two for the OE discs, sounds like possibility of staying with....do you just get them from Subaru garage or is there a better alternative.

Been trying to get Alyn but no luck all day. Will keep trying.

Does the braided hoses and Dot 5.1 fluid really make a noticeable difference ?

Considering adding my name to the AF remap list so want to get the brakes done right while they are cause me an issue.

Firmer pedal feel from the lines.

Stick with trying Alyn - he'll get you the best price on the lines.  Get the OE discs elsewhere other than Subaru - there are loads of engineering companies online who make them - try ebay - you'll link a few of them there.

Another good place I bought my standard rear discs from recently was Camskill - cost me about £50 odd quid delivered for the pair.

Spoke to Alyn, gives good advice right enough. Between him and the info received on here think I know what to do - thanks folks. OE discs and either Pagid or Ferodo pads should cover my braking needs and shouldn't break the bank.
