Manx plates, registration & MOT

Hi again

Come-over coming over on Thursday!

What order do I sort out the reg plates & MOT thingy please? Can I do the registration & plates first - then do the MOT thing later? The car is just over 3 years old, I was thinking that maybe I can't get the registration without the MOT docs?

Hello I just just put mine through it first you need to goto the test center and ask for a test form you will need it as its over 3 years old also if its an import and its under 10 years old it needs to have a sva test also . Fill in the form and take it up an then you have to pay £30 then they give you a date there and then. I will fail the first one they all do so its a good idea to make them something easy to find like brake pads or something cheap to change then when it is failed they tell you what on you have to pay another £15 and get another date . once it has past you need to goto the post ofice and apply for a reg also you have to tax it aswell cost about £200 to get a car on the road from across

hope this helps

You can pick up the test form from any of the larger post officies on the island. If your car is just over 3 years old I cant see it failing dude.

Tax over here for a Scoob is £140, just renewed mine this month for the first time since owning the car.

Just spoke to my mate who has not long regstered his nearly 3 year old New Age over here

he said all it cost him was £149 to have a Manx reg assigned (he got a standard reg), reg docs produced and road tax
