Scooby Hoo? Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 []Just thought Id let you know I'm fitting a brake stopper kit, hope it helps? Remember to open the window first before you chuck the anchor out Tony ps love those bananas Ian lol Hi Baser. I just about understood the pulley tutorial after you reminded me again, but wot are we talking about now? I always had this old fashioned idea that brakes are a means of stopping a vehicle so why the need to fit a stopper . IAN I'M BEGINNING TO THINK, AND THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS, THAT YOU MIGHT BE A LITTLE BANANAS YOURSELF.
granby Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Don't worry Hoo, a brake stopper kit is only really needed for them flimsy classics
ScoobyBB Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 I have a stopper fitted to my classic and didnt notice a difference.
granby Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 what is a brake stopper? Come on Prodrive Tony i'll let you explain this one []
Dalthegooner Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Its a bracket that bolts onto the servo and bulkhead to stop the servo/master cylinder moving when the pedal is pressed. Making the braking system more efficient and giving you a better pedal response.Clicky

Is it a part that even someone like me could fit lol lol
matthew_buckland Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Wohoo i can talk about brakes here not get disciplined [], I personally think you should save up and get a complete front brake conversion, go for some nice four pots with braided hoses, dont need to be bigger just better, we have replaced our disc's with vented and groved but they are standard 278mm (had to keep the same size if i want to use turbo rims on track),and braided hoses and 4 pot bremsport calipers. We replaced the rear pads with mintex ones and now she stops on a penny, it was well worth doing especially as we have no engine braking [Y]
prodrive tony Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 Im on the lookout matey. I have got drilled/grooved discs and uprated pads at the moment so they do work(abit) [Y]
T123VOR Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 My car come with one already fitted- I wondered what it was initially But i couldnt tell you if it betters the brakes
Dalthegooner Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 do they work though.........I mean is there any noticeable difference through the pedals? Is it a part that even someone like me could fit lol lol I've not fitted one to mine yet so I don't know if it works. I've put braided brake lines with dot5.1 fluid which made a difference to the pedal feel so I'm hoping the brake stopper when I fit it will as well. I think someone of your technical ability should be able to fit it Barry. . . . It looks pretty simple [] And if you get stuck give us a shout, I don't mind helping you out.
