Nick555 Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Hi Are there any companies that sell cherished Manx plates, or maybe a classifieds section in a newspaper? Several hours of Googling hasn't found anything apart from the gov.im site.
cupradave Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Morning Nick In short, no there isn't go here http://www.iompost.com/counters/vehicledrivinglicences.xml all cherished plates are sold through the post office, there is a small list in .pdf on the web page above "cherished numbers list" this shows some of whats available but the way to do it is think about what you want and then ring them to see if it is available. the only requirement is that the plate has either MAN or MN in it, you will see this in the examples list. now for the best bit, generally cherished numbers on the Isle of Man cost just £67 yip you read right I said £67
dan_1987 Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 i jus got a plate off some one d 666 man for 400 quid
Nick555 Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 Thanks guys Is there a transfer fee if I buy privately?
cupradave Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 all the information you should need Nick is in the .pdf files that can be found on the webpage i mentioned but i think there might be. personally I would not pay that much for a plate over here unless it is exactly the one you are looking for and there was nothing even close from the licencing office, but maybe thats just the scotsman in me LOL
Nick555 Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 Thanks I checked the site & PDF files, but couldn't find much about fees, other than when held on retention.
