hello everyone im looking at buying my first subaru impreza wrx in the next few weeks i have done the usual stuff first like making sure i can get insurance and i managed to get a quote for 788 fully comp which i thought was quite good.

but now it is time to go looking for the right car i have 3000-3500ish to spend hopefully and was wondering what i should look for when i go to see any as i dont want to buy a dud or a car that has been thrashed into the ground and not last me 5 mins before i have to spend loads of money on it.

i have also been told buy someone that a scooby will need a full engine rebuild after 60k is this true?

any help you can give me will be great as i want to enjoy buying a scooby not have a car that im going to have constanly in a garage being repaired.

thanks

hi there clive

you should be able to find a good one for your budget

take a look here autotrader

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_...earch_full.y=12

or here piston heads

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.asp?s=179

there seems to be some decent ones about

and as for the engine rebuild , yeah they tend to go around that mark but like everything if its treated well then all will be well

a deffinate must for a scooby purchase is a FULL service history, if you can  get that then  brilliant ie receipts , mods , car maintainance

good luck

where is it your from , if you do find one then get yourself paid up for a membership as we have discount schemes all over the place lol
