JDMSTI Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Hi Guys, Had the car a couple of weeks and still loving it. Done a search but have got a bit confused![:$] As stated the car is an 02 JDM Sti, I will be getting the car remapped probably next month and want to de cat the car at the same time of the map. Question is how many cats does my car have and where are they? If someone could also recommend a good supplier for the pipes needed to replace the cats it would be much appreciated[Y] The car is very quiet at the moment, does anyone know what the standard Sti exhaust sounds like with the cat/s removed? Thanks in advance, Dave
WUZ Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 "The car is very quiet at the moment, does anyone know what the standard Sti exhaust sounds like with the cat/s removed?" - BLOODY AWESOME! Your car has 2 cats and is the last of the Single-scroll JDM cars (twin-scroll on 03 JDM STi's onwards), one in DP, one in Cat pipe. REMEMBER THAT IS FACTORY SPEC IN JAPAN, DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE BOTH STILL THERE!!!!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend Hayward and Scott , but that's biased as I supply them up here! Glasgow massive seems to like the Meercat stuff, not sure on their prices but the quality looks to be very good. Russell
JDMSTI Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 Nice one Russell, May be giving you a call today with regards to the PM I sent last week, Thanks again[Y]
GaryD Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Think Jimser might still be selling a 3" Hayward & Scott System. Should still be in the forsale section. Hope this helps.
