Guest Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 hi, i have a MY97 uk full engine and 2 wrx MY93 import engines, both wrx ones are not working one has bent valves and other has a blown piston great eh? if i take the inlet manifold off my wrx with bent valves and fit it to the uk MY97 block would the car run ok ad be fine? or am i going to have to strip down both wrx ones to make a good one as one of them just had a £3000 rebuilt but had not had liner done right and it broke piston and dent in barrel many thanks again for helping out cheers Damian
brian_paterson Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I would stick with the 2 import engines and make a good one, as they have forged internals, the uk engines have cast, so if your wanting to run higher power stick with the imports. I would go back to place that re-built your engine about your liner as well! Brian

marky.t.s Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 WTF???Damo,is the garage having a laugh,surely rebuilding a performance engine,subaru or otherwise,they must know its going to be driven hard now and then.To come out with that statement is out of order,do they claim to be a "performance specialist"? please let us know the location or the name of this garage so that others can think twice or ask the garage if they know what their doing before forking out money only to be told that "youre a ned" when something goes wrong.
