Fault code 12

Once again i'm in need of some technical help!! Fault code 12 is coming up on the cel light, car isn't idleing properly (wants to idle about 100 RPM!!) anybody got any ideas whats up with it? Idle control valve??

It is a year 2000 W reg 2000 turbo, have recently fitted a FMIC, runs piper cross induction kit.

Is it definitely code 12?

one long flash two quick ones? Won't idle right, will idle for about 20 seconds then falls to 2oo rpm or there about. And will stall ocasionally to

Curiosity, have you tried an ecu reset?

Just tried that and its now flashing up code 23 (mass air flow sensor). Is there away of cleaning these?

Nope, new one i'm afraid. You can buy just the sensor though rather than the whole kit which is very expensive.

Symptoms are more in line with the fault code you've just given.

Is the air filter secure? If not, you'll run the risk of breaking another MAF sensor.

Third one i've replaced in a year wonder if the heavy rain got into it on friday?

Doubtful, unless you've taken the guard underneath the bonnet vent away
