thanks for the reply, unfortunately the car doesn't have any service history which is why im getting it for a good price. I have hpi'd the car and checked the mileage adds up on old mot's which it does. At what mileage should the timing belt be changed? Ill just have to get it done anyway. As for the knocking i guess that can be solved with after market suspension? im hoping to view/buy this car on tuesday so if anyone can point out what i should look out for that'd be great

Im new round here and have never really a subaru fan, ive always appreciated the rally pedigree but when i was younger I have never aspired to own one.. Maybe its because im a ford guy but im now in the market for a reliable fast car that i can keep for 5 years atleast and a WRX seems to be ticking all the boxes at the minute. Originally i was looking at the blob eye shape but ive come across a reasonable price 2006 hawkeye, 68,000 miles, 2 owners but no service history but that doesn't really bother me as the car is 2 owner, and clean the only issues are a tiny bit of lacquer peal on the front bumper and a bit of wheel corrosion. Like I say im new to subarus, so i have alot of questions so i can be sure its a good investment and hassle free motoring. What should i be looking out for? Where are they likely to rust? leak oil? common faults? What are the service intervals of WRX's? What parts should have been changed and at which mileage? Clutch? Belts? etc Any noises to listen out for? Engine or transmission wise? thanks for any help, im hoping to be sticking around!
