  1. My car is a 2003 WRX with 333/307. On Sunday I managed a 12.45 with my 2nd run (after a woeful 17.4 first) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR613RqQuZ0 Then my best of 12.44 with a 1.79 0-60ft and 3.8 0-60mph https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biyHv7NtuU0 Ditching the budget tyres might help a bit but my goal is to hit 11.9 without going past 340bhp.
  2. I made a poll to see who people actually want as hosts - 126,000 votes so far. http://www.ranker.com/list/who-do-you-want-to-host-bbc-top-gear-/matthewgill It's interesting to see where the current line-up fares. Chris Harris could save the new show.
  3. Put some Wynns stop smoke in 5 years ago after my car got diagnosed with ringland failure, bore scoring and poor compression. Before the additive was added the car was using 1 litre of oil per month and failed the last MOT on emissions. Car has run fine since lol and now uses a litre of oil per year! - even though I have 100bhp more! Can carbon deposits etc seal up a cylinder???
  4. The evo had uprated brakes and didn't half catch me towards a bend.
  5. Cheers Tony, I've been looking at Millers brake fluid. £16 ish
  6. Blue WR1? STI spotted sat aft in Ossett, another scoob that didn't fancy taking the all conquering WRX on. I raced my mates Tuned Honda R1 later that day and several times it wasn't quite as one sided as I thought. This was confirmed Sunday aft when my mates 380bhp Evo 5 was being left time and time again. The long ratio box in the WRX is legend.
  7. I've just bought some RE Motorsport custom mats for a small fortune, then the company closed.
  8. Standard fluid probably! Cheers for the advice, I'll change it first then, might save £200 on pads! I tend to usually only race down short straights, 0-60 legally! from the lights, but it was a grudge match this time down country roads!
  9. I've just raced a friends 380bhp Evo 5 in my near stock 03'WRX, the Evo could barely live with it until the top mount got a little warm. Biggest worry was after 5 or 6 corners I had no braking power whatsoever and had to cruise to a stop from 400 yards. Can I cure the issue with just Ferrodo DS2500 pads all round? and do Ferrodo do a pad for the WRX?
  10. Just spotted the Black Roger Clark Hawkeye again on a country road near where I live! Again driving too slow, give it some!!
  11. Had a lot removed, front brace, under car horseshoe brace, air-con etc etc and 5kg FIA seats fitted, WRX is 40-80kg lighter anyway than an STI. I can't help thinking if the WRX had 2 cats and not 3 STI might have had some blushes. I've just removed the pre-cat on the turbo up-pipe and the WRX feels like a totally different animal. They say a good heat-wrapped up-pipe on an STI can give 10bhp and quicker spool so god knows what it gives a WRX.
  12. Had it mapped at 218 at the wheels so it's only about 250bhp. It's about 160-200kg lighter than an STI though.
  13. I rolling roaded my 03' WRX PPP and BHP figures were more or less standard. Warranty friendly add on for the WRX tbh.
