BOV and Dump Valve

same thing frank. see

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blowoff_valve

take it you mean vent to air or recirculating. If u want whoosh noises u want a vent to air. gives u pops from the exhaust as well, cause injectors add enough petrol for air thats no longer there. believe this can thin out the engine oil over time though. but if u want whoosh go for it.

Or u could be taking about difference between dump valve and turbo bypass valve.

beaten to it [:$]

Thanks Imy,

A wee bit info overload there lol..

Flame suit at the ready.....  but what's the difference between the two ? as i'm thinking about fitting a FMIC and would like to know what's best to fit..

I like the standard one that's fitted already and i'm not a fan of the "big bus psssshhhhhhhhh"..

Is it possible to keep and fit the standard one on to the F/mount with some kind of adaptor?

Cheers

Cheers Euan,

Interesting reading  ;))

Looks like i will be wanting a Recirculating one.. Anyone know if i can get an adaptor for fitting my OE one or what's the best thing to do ?

You can get adaptors that will allow you to bolt your d/v onto your new i/c pipework.  When I had the same issue I just boust a new d/v that bolted straight on as it was much easier.

Have a look on ebay as there normally loads, forge are the best in mu opinion.
