Hi Ciaran,  I've been running a sti-wagon for the last year now, it's got no more room than a standard uk wagon. Both have the fold down rear seat back which gives ample room for golf clubs , i even managed to squeeze a 6' 6" sofa bed in. The bonus from the sti wagon is what's under the bonnet but apart from that , space wise they are identical.

craig.

i was aware they are both he same size i was looking at STI's as they look smarter and are faster!!

....arguably more fragile though. With the money you save from buying a UK rather than an STi, you can buy some decent mods and have a well mapped, un-stressed, 300/300 with good gear ratios and reliably checked by (I assume) Mr F through in Port Seaton.

Cheers,

I had a '97 STi 4 Wagon running in excess of 300bhp. Loved the car - was black and had that stealthy look. Tracked it once at KH and helds its' own well. Rattled like an old jalopy but didn't buy it for comfort. Only mods were a full decat and old Pipercross inducion kit. Compared to my '53 STi UK it was more fun and felt much quicker but prefer the comfort factor now.

Not if you get a good one....just have to find one that's all.......I've had my V3 for nearly 8 years. Bought as a practical, quick car. Found it to be very practical for carrying all sorts. It's never let me down and managed 326 bhp last year despite being virtually standard. I've never understood folk buying UK cars and then spending all their time and money making them as quick as the Sti's.

Just to throw a spanner in the works....how about a GTB? I bought one 2 years ago as a winter car to take the STi off the road during the salt season...It's much more practical, more comforatble, good value to buy, very stealthy and surprisingly quick - it'll give the STi a shock once the 2nd turbo cuts in. Make sure you get a manual one if it's performance you're after - we went to Kent to get ours..

Had a v5 sti wagon for a year now and i can honestly say its one of my better decisions, never had it on rollers but depending who you believe the v5 has 300 brake standard the looks compared to a uk imo are far better so to get a uk looking and running the same output would far exceed the diference in price what other family estate is going to run a 13.01 quarter with minor mods. now i have a dilema is grant just bleathering for a change [:)] cos he has never owned an import?? or does he have a point.

I realise u can buy a uk scoob and make it as fast as an STI buy surly that would cost more than just buying an STI???

and now iv seen a nice looking P1 so i may just shoot the dog and buy the P1 [:)]
