david_taylor Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 All I am due to renew my insurance and dont want to stay with Barclays as my premium has went up for some unknown reason. I remember a thread a while back where a particular broker was mentioned and his number was quoted. Can anyone remember of know who this was and supply? Any other recommendations on good quotes without a tracker? Cheers Dave

Alan-G Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Whats the average? Forget discounts, premiums , age of yer car, your age , your history (important one though) Lets just find the cheapest car insurer. Alan. Remember folks. Claims do need a lot of paperwork to validate your case, but insurance companies dont like paperwork. especially if its problematic.

st3ph3n Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 dtabbit, there's a post in the members only section of the forum with details of the discount at Keith Michaels. I think most people that have phoned Gary at KM have been quoted extremely happy. I was with Elephant previously with no mods declared and he beat their 10 month renewal quote for his yearly quote with ALL my mods declared.
fai17 Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 The best bit about KM is that he understands what MODS are and didn't cost me a penny to declare them[][]
craig mac Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Fully Comp Protected, All Minor mods, £376[]
david_taylor Posted January 24, 2007 Author Posted January 24, 2007 Well, after a week of intense searching the web and making phone calls, its A-Plan that I got the best quote from by far, and nearly £100 less than Keith Michaels. £481 for MY00 UK Turbo, with Centre Decat and SS Exhaust, no points and seven years no claims, 29 year old, plus the missus as named driver. Unfortunately I do not have a tracker fitted, as both Privledge and Elephant were under £300 if I did. Tried to tell the guy they should think of giving a discount to SIDC members as they would get a lot of business. Said he would say to his boss.
Double Zero Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Ok Dave-Well im with Elephant and My00 WRX with only mod is Morrettes headlight con,im 40& the missus is 30&i have 6 points(not with the scooby)&im paying £615 with 9 years no claims[*-)]

gus the bus Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 You guys make me sick as i am paying sixteen undred odds [:@] Ouch![:S] I insure 3 cars, a motorbike and a hoose fur almost a grand less than that! []
derek_wright Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 I thought that was quite good at first as i was seventeen hundred odds for my last one and that was third party

Plus six points is going to add about 20% I would have thought.
