steven_williams
Just got my new set of tubular headers from Roger Clarke Motorsport, the quality is top notch a lot better than the set that fractured on my last week on the way back from a Inverness run. Will try to post some pics of before, during and fitted. This will be done on Saturday hopefully as I have yet to thermal wrap prior to fitting. Bring on sunday when I can settle them in. steven_williams
Here are the pic's quality a bit low due to using phone camera and rushing to get it fitted http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e281/360ste/Image022.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e281/360ste/Image021-1.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e281/360ste/Image020.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e281/360ste/Image019.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e281/360ste/Image018.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e281/360ste/Image017.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e281/360ste/Image016.jpg. Fitting was okay, a couple of snags towards the end. As you can see fromthe pictures it has a 3 bolt flange to connect to the up-pipe, getting the top bolt in was a swine as everything was bolted tight. I would say that if fitting one yourself don't tighten eveything as you go along just put the nuts on the bolts/studs to hold in place and still allow some articulation. Apart from that the Roger Clarke Motorsport manifold is well made and the fitting kit is excellent. I would highly recommend this manifold. Just hope it last's longer than the last one. steven_williams
Not sure yet as I was concentraiting on the road. Not being able to use it for a week and having to dry out the thermal wrap required a hard run out. will try to listen on the next run, Link to comment
AlanG
I use the same headers and yes the top bolt isn't easy. Best way to fit would have been to take off the nuts from the engine mounts, jack up the engine just clear of the cradle and fit the complete manifold and up-pipe in one go. Link to comment

Definatly wish I had known that earlier. Think I spent a good few hours trying different methods, but got there eventually. Link to comment
AlanG
I torqued up the headers to the heads, then tried to fit the up-pipe, but after wasting a fair amount of time trying to fit then tighten up the up-pipe bolts, i bit the bullet and took the headers back off and fitted the whole thing as one item. I also checked and double checked the up-pipe gasket wasn't going to leak to save having to take it all back off again... [] Link to comment
higgy
they are identical to my GT spec headers that i fitted lasy year. Ace quality. Higgy Link to comment
fai17
They do look like GT headers Link to comment
oz *sti*
I must say the RCM headers are great I bought and fitted them to my car 1 week ago, as the mugan (sp?) ones I had let go at the flexi joint, I fitted them the way Alan G said to jack the engine up and fit as one unit much easier to get that third bolt in for the up pipe. Quality is outstanding and let off a great sound. [Y] Link to comment
frank c
What's the benefit in fitting an aftermarket Up-pipe or Headers for that matter ? Link to comment

Yeh I know mate and then when Andy did his magic with the remap and turned up the boost they had no chance bang they went, as you say if it's broke upgrade it and these are like night and day compared to the old ones. steven_williams
What's the benefit in fitting an aftermarket Up-pipe or Headers for that matter ? In general it is a smmother run for the exhaust gases from the engine to the turbo, due to smooth bore pipe being used instead of the cast standard item. which can be rough and stepped at each joint causing turblance and wasting energy that can be put to better use via the turbo. That is unless the headres have had a meeting with Harvey and been ported and polished which give similar results to a set of tubular headers, from what I have seen on here Link to comment
