STi_Bandit Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Thank you to Sma01 for supplying me with his old strut brace took 15mins to fit and quarter of a tank of petrol to test. what a differnece defenetly does not roll as much in the corners and feels much more stable []... Just looking at GEM's ecu's the now []....... P.s. May need to clean the engine bay.... Martin
st3ph3n Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Looks the part. I certainly noticed a difference when I got the Cusco front brace on mine.
STi_Bandit Posted May 20, 2006 Author Posted May 20, 2006 Have to say iam very suprised, to be honestly didnt expect any difference in handling other than a bit of bling in the engine bay. but really has sharpened up the handiling and noticable less roll in the car. Martin
dipsy Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Looking good .Give your engine a clean and it will look even better
STi_Bandit Posted May 20, 2006 Author Posted May 20, 2006 well i did try if you look at the 2nd pic ull see the header tank is half cleaned then i gave up had no degresser [] Martin
dipsy Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Sorry did not notice that bit.Does your sti have rubber strip on the front off the bonnet .The jdm sti i have does i think thats what keeps it clean and stops dust going in the engine bay aswell..I wish when i had the classic my00 uk turbo had this the engine bay was black .
STi_Bandit Posted May 20, 2006 Author Posted May 20, 2006 Yeah i think it does have the wee rubber strip canny mind and its pouring down outside so cant check, to be honest i think the engine bay just needs a real good clean with some CD2, but well to it after the 30,000 mile service and the mechanics oilly hands have been all over it. Martin
gus the bus Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Nice one[]what about a rear one? Did both the day I bought my Scoob and deffo makes a difference. Have you done the Tein suspension yet!??? If you havent you will notice a bigger difference then.[Y] Gus
STi_Bandit Posted May 21, 2006 Author Posted May 21, 2006 Not done the rear one, to be honest i was suprised how easy it was to fit the front one i might just do the rear to, i know you need to take the rear seats out to get to the tower on the car. Iam only worried i do alot of biking and cant afford to have a rear bar cutting right across the boot as thats where the bike is lol, so if you have a pic gus so i can see how much boot space it takes up would be great.... Also who does a rear one to match me front one scooby world seem to have to have stopped rear ones Martin
STi_Bandit Posted May 21, 2006 Author Posted May 21, 2006 You know when you look at a pic of your car and then see your side lights are on when the car is off, oh bugger just switched that switch off the now still have a battery phew Matin
fai17 Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Clean your engine bay with CD2 and it'll look like this.
fraser_allan Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 http://http://www.scoobyparts.com/main.asp?link=shopMartin, scooby parts.com for the rear strut brace. Gus has one and it sits right up the top nextto the seat and does not take up any space at all. thats my next move £110 for both . Hope this helps Fraz.
gus the bus Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Martin, The rear is a bigger job than the front but well worth it buddy! I would say if you havent done the Teins yet just wait and do it at the same time. Saves any hassle as youl have the rear struts off anyway, believe me I know![] As Fraz says only sits just below the top of the turrets across the boot space so is kinda out of the way. Sorry no pictures just now [] Gus
