Grant >> these volk wheels seem to gathering a fare amount of interest, every time i say volk people seem to water at the mouth. am think that these wheels are good.
st3ph3n Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Some fine Gucci bits on the car mate. Sounds like a great spec. Enjoy the club.
the squiggle Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Best of the best mate to the point of some people even put a Volk sticker onto run of the mill alloys to give tham a bit more Kudos Stay away from the kerbs and stick an extra set of lockers on them. Grant
st3ph3n Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Volk wheels - Made by a Japanese Company called Ray's Engineering. You're talking £200+ per corner on even the most basic wheels. What makes people foam at the mouth for them is usually the weight and the quality. All of the Volk rims are, to the best of my knowledge, 1 piece or 2 piece forged rims. Some of them are magnesium too. This means they are extremely light and extremely strong. As we all know - cutting down the weight of the rolling mass (wheels, tyres, brake discs) is very very good indeed. If you look at who turns to Rays for their wheels then it shows their quality I think - STI, Nismo, TRD, Ralliart, Mazda Speed. Thank you. Stephen - a man with a fetish for high quality Japanese wheels.
Guest CRAIG D Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 ah soooo there pritty good. so maybe a extra set of lockers is on the cards then if am ever selling them, then i no where to come. the wheels are 5 spoke 16" in black with a crome rim, does this remind u of any
st3ph3n Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 If they are, and I think they might well be, then I am one very VERY jealous boy. I'm guessing LE37T in gunmetal with diamond cut rim Having said that, not available in 16" as far as I know. The 17" ones are priced in a region that has reduced people to tears.
Guest CRAIG D Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 http://www.smartycars.com/calder/detail_ne...70&Dealer_ID=29 thats the car there
st3ph3n Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Hmm. Not sure. Those are 6 spokes I've listed. Maybe they're older ones that aren't available just now.

Cast Iron construction with YTS buttweld seams Prone to leaking at 20psi when the wind blows due west from the Urals Std fitment on pre 83 Skodas and posy 1913 Ladas Famed for thier heavier than the titanic weight 2nd hand they go for about £10 a corner Dont use wheel lockers as the alloy in the locker will "weld" itself to the iron in the wheel and be impossible to remove* Grant *by me at 4 in the morning, hhhhmmmm East Calder you say and the curfew will keep the neds away
Guest CRAIG D Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 hmmmmm il need to watch out now, il get a full set of lockers i think thats mid calder ur talking about. the decent people live in the top part of east calder
st3ph3n Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Oh yeah, sorry they're really crap. Don't even put nuts on them and sit the car on axle stands at night. Grant, I'll give you a shout about a completely unrelated visit to east calder.
Guest CRAIG D Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 thanks for putting up the clicky for the piccie
the squiggle Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Yep axle stands would be most helpful and if you could leave out a trolley jack. Not seen that style of Volks before, very nice indeed. Grant
Guest CRAIG D Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 il tell u what il just take the wheels off myself and leave them next to the car less hassle for u,dont want to get them hands dirty now do we
the squiggle Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 << thanks for putting up the clicky for the piccie >> no problem Grant
