New Headers Fitted Today

Took a little trip up to Darlington today to see Harvey Smith who had some ported & wrapped standard headers to fit for me, it took about 2 1/2 hours all in and that included wrapping my up-pipe & down-pipe, when he finished he asked me to take the car out for a little spin to make sure everything was OK and to be honest i didn't find much difference in performance with them BUT when i got the car out on the open road what a difference, the turbo spools up about 500rpm earlier and then there is just tons of torque face-icon-small-happy.gif , so if anyone is thinking of getting some headers i can highly recommend Harvey Smith's and at a bargain price even if it's about a 580 mile round trip face-icon-small-smile.gif

PS...he also does front mount intercoolers for newage cars now £580 fitted face-icon-small-cool.gif

I did my own on the R. I did have OBX equal lenghth tubular headers, but I missed the burble. face-icon-small-wink.gif

I had the diamond cutter, but had to hire a Die grinder for half a day, to do them so when you add up the cost and time involved, the price Harvey charges IS very reasonable.

Im looking at a Front mount and big turbo as this years birthday present!.

Do you know what make? The Hybrid Classic FMC is a nice piece of kit and exellent value for the money, but I never really felt they looked like they fit properly from the front.

Thanks Ian,

Its got nice pipework, but the size/design of the IC itself to the air intake is a little mismatched.

But havning said that you wont see it behind a WR1 grill.
