RA Dunk Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 think its the hinge which ya door hangs on not 100% sure though
SEEVERS Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 Anyone else shed any light on this?? Del.
jcscoob Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Dont know if scoobs have "the pins" the hinge thing , lol . But i think its the stay thing coz when you open the door it rests open in notches at a couple of points, im sure some bugger that is in the know will shed some light on it . I can only rember doning shat like that on me old escorts and stuff
col666 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Give the hinges and the little bar in the middle(!?) a good spraying with WD40, the salt on the roads seems to get to the hinges.
nicostar Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 hi seevers , the part you are talking about is called the check strap , try spraying it with wd40 or put some grease on it if that doesn't help it will need replaced if the door is closing properly and hasn't dropped your hinge pins should be ok hope this helps mate
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Are you sure it's not yer wallet opening ? just jesting ! Have you accidently hit of off a high kerb when opening it on a heavily cambered road ? Happened to one of my old cars Cal
SEEVERS Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 "An you can f**kk off an'all Cal"....lol Very funny new home owner....how was the move/is the house?? It's not hit anything...the door closes fine...and it's not dropped. Like i said above,i'll take the door card off at w/e and give it a bit of lubrication, hopefully be just crap in it like Col says. Cheers for feedback though. Del.
IanJ Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I find white spray grease does a longer lasting job than WD40. Just be careful that it doesn't go everywhere!!
