scoobykev Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I pulled up at the cash machine today, took the keys out but the car was still running with the turbo timer. i didn't lock it as my son was in it. went to get money and quickly jumped back in and took off as a car wanted my space. I got 100 yards down the high street in Forfar and needed to turn left, as i did the steering lock engaged!! F*cking idiot, i'd forgotten to put the key back in Nearly mounted the pavement and had a car into my back Kev
weeb Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 lucky! av nearly done that!! << As a big yellow man would say, DOH! >>
Edinburgh-Chris Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Mate, know how you feel! I jumped into the car to drive it after my girlfriend came back with it. drove to the end of my street, stopped and then went to pull away when same thing occured......i Shat my pants thinking the worse, see handed the keys over to me and laughed!!! bloody hell my heart stopped for thwe worse but hey no damage = lets laugh at it now! keep the chin up, Chris
jcscoob Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 O, kev !!! Does your timer not go of when you let the hand brake off ?
scoobykev Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 when i stopped, the bairn took his seat belt off and said " you're not parked very straight" All these people on the pavement going wtf!!
scoobykev Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 << Does your timer not go of when you let the hand brake off ? >> Nope, should it??
col666 Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Kev, Between you nearly smashing your car and JC firing rockets through his windows its a bit dangerous to be around the Dundee area just now, I'd better watch myself Col.
johnnyr6 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 If i try to drive away my timer cuts the engine, you shouldn't be able to drive away.
scoobykev Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 << Yea, most should do !! who fitted it ? >> Dicksons of dunblane fitted it, its a blitz fatt11
jcscoob Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Deffo m8 it should be wired to your hand brake so when some skum suker jumps in and trys to drive away, they fail !!! get on the blower to them !!
scoobymadburd Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 ours cuts out too jc as soon as you put down the handbrake!! Good mod Claire
colinj Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 << ours cuts out too jc as soon as you put down the handbrake!! Good mod Claire >> yea mine does that aswell!!!
sharon_mccall Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 see you don't have any of this nonsense in a sport. lol was pmsl at the thought of you doing this scoobykev.
RS Grant Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 LOL... Its funny because it wasnt serious, could have been very different though!? I agree that your T/Timer should defo turn itself off when handbrake is released, could understand if it was a DIY fitting, but a garage like Dicksons should know that IMO!! Cheers, Grant
scoobyfuzzy Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 yeah, mine cuts out with the handbrake aswell fuzzy
scoobykev Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 << get on the blower to them !! >> too late now its been fitted for about 2 year, will stick a post it to the inside o' ma specs to remind me

Big Daz Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 LOL, note to self *Avoid Kev unless I am driving something bigger and stronger* Just to confirm, there should be a wire from TT to handbrake light switch, If you want a hand, give me a shout, done a couple of these Daz
