scooooby Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 hi all , need help with the electrics in the car , got a concept 650 alarm fitted bout 2 month ago , got to work fine on friday went to alarm the car and nothing happened just locked it with the key , went to go home after work and nothing , no dash lights or alarm , got it towed home and checked all the fuses and there fine , phoned the place that fitted it and they say its the car fuses that the alarm is wired into so checked again still nothing , so took dash off to check the alarm fuses all fine , put a multi meter on where the alarm fuses are wired into and nothing but not sure where the wire goes , its on the board next to the fuse box ? ? ? ?
ed-209 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 I take it, it uses black wires at the alarms fuses, if so tell the mob who fitted it, to get it fix ( I take you did pay them and it wasn't a pal of a pal who did it), Nothing worse than black wires (they do it to confuse thiefs), It took me 4hr of solid work to remove my old imobliser and alarm and to get the car working, so that will cost you a forture for a auto spark to do. Ed
scooooby Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 no it was a proper install , most of the wires are black , found 3 fuses of the alarm going into one wire , tried the multi meter on it and there was nothing , phoned the company who fitted it and he recons its a fuse in the car and not the alarm , but the wire the alarm fuses are into isnt on the main fuse box theres a panel to the left of it with a heap oh plugs the alarm fuses is into one of them and i cant see where the wire goes from there as its all taped up with othere wires ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, fun
scooooby Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 well had the car into taylors in aberdeen - £56 later and a hour later they found a fault with the cliford imob but they couldnt fix i cause if they cut any wires to bypass it i lose my warrenty , so have to wait till thursday for the guy to come up and fix it
ScoobyAndy Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 At least you know what it is now m8 I hope your going to bill the alarm supplier for the costs involved in tracking down the fault

scooooby Posted December 23, 2005 Author Posted December 23, 2005 well cars fixed now , took the guy 20 mins to fix the problem , wasn't the alarm or imob was a fuse from the abs that killed everthing , the guy who had the car before me wired a switch in the dash to switch the abs off and on , there was a fuse behind the switch that had blew ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, gutted could of fixed it myself....
