scientific steve Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 when i go away to that far flung fantasy island called offshore life, i get me old man to collect my car from the car park at work, cause call me old-fashioned but if i'm away for 3 or 5 weeks i dont want some dodgy person thinking about what could be done to me scoob!!! anyway i digress, the point of this was to say that me old man and lady decided to take my mota out for a bit of a spin as the last time i got back the battery was flat, so doing what they do best out for a bit of a run to the garden centre on the sat morning and then on out to see my brother and family out in hatton before peterhead. now me old fella has reached the age of 63 and to see him with the cloth cap sitting behing the wheel of a classic scoob is quite a sight it's much more of a laugh to find out from my mother that he scared the bejesus out of her on the hatton straight overtaking everything in sight and appon reaching ***.** mph decided to "back off" a little i dont think me mother will be going out for "a little run" anymore i can see where i get these mad ideas from now, i am my fathers son you never know, one of these days you could see him down the beach cruising about
gus the bus Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Steve, PMSL at this one! He may be getting older but sure knows how to have fun by the sounds of it! Likewise, I gave my oldman a shot of the 300 when I first got it and he took it a gid blast from Bathgate upto Stirling and back. I couldnay get the grin of his coupon. Mind you he does have a scooby (Forester!) himself which used to be mine and wouldn't part with it! He's got the bug
ScoobyAndy Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 LOL good story Steve. You still brave enough to leave him the car while your away?
st3ph3n Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I'm trying to convince my dad that a 2.0R Legacy would make a good replacement for his 180K Merc. He's driven my Impreza few times and he likes it. A bit stiff but likes the performance. Infact the first time he took it out he left a boy standing on the sliproad onto the north bound M74 at the Raith Interchange. It was funny.
G.T. Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 my dad is desperate for a shot of my car but hes onto plums. Im a nervous wreck in the car with him and wouldnt trust him with my mrs saxo let alone my pride and joy
ScoobyAndy Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 LOL just remind him if he bends it he mends it
fai17 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 cool.i wish my old man had enough guts to take mines out for a blast. even i pant myself sometimes when i'm driving the beast.
