ScoobyAndy Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Why are the traffic cops never there when you need them? Went for a wee drive tonight. Though a 30 limit i was doing 30 clapped out old fiesta passed me dodging islands doing 60+. On the way back same thing happens an MY04 mg pulls out comes flying up my ass them shoots past dodging islands doing 40/50. Both cars had at least 2 people in them, the MG had more blue lights on it that a police car too. Why are the cops never doing theyre job and catching maniacs like that??
st3ph3n Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 They're out looking for people doing 73 on the motorway! Whilst not scoffing Doughnuts.
ScoobyAndy Posted December 14, 2005 Author Posted December 14, 2005 << Whilst not scoffing Doughnuts. >> That wont be very often then Wha annoys me more is the fact that if it was you or me doing 32 they'd be pulling us in and doing us.... Its about time some of these idiots were taken off the road for a long time!
G.T. Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 id agree totaly gumball , i have no time for the planks
ScoobyAndy Posted December 14, 2005 Author Posted December 14, 2005 I agree too... how about we all change our jobs to traffic cops n get to spend the day driving like idiots and picking on people that dont deserve it. Almost forgot.. getting to sit and eat doughnuts all day long too
st3ph3n Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 You'd all love to be a pursuit driver though. Go on. Admit it.
ScoobyAndy Posted December 14, 2005 Author Posted December 14, 2005 << You'd all love to be a pursuit driver though. Go on. Admit it. >> LOL who wouldnt. The roads would be a safer place
mazheriqbal_mohammed Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I remember some time back i was reading an article in Max Power that was going on about Traffic Police and their role on the road. I was quite intrested to find out that in order for a policeman to remain a traffic cop over a given period of time (i think it was every 3 months) they had to attain a certain number arrests (ranging from cautions, fines to 3 points). Given that this is true i believe that on some occations some of the crappy little arrests that these fellas make, such as the recent inccident with Croc getting booked for 32 in a 30 zone are just there so that these guys can reach their set quota in order to remain a traffic policeman. If they dont reach the quota then it is back to a beat cop which probably aint the nicest job given the weather at the moment so that can explain some of the police's motivation to readily bust road goers. I know this may not be the case for all policemen out there but it makes sense to me to bust somebody in a high performance car as it would be easy for people to believe a cop when they say that a guy in an Impreza was speeding and if you are on your own it would be your word against theirs which makes things more difficult if things went to court. I only say this from experience when i used to own an Integra Type R and got stopped, but luckily nothing came of it Maybe one day they will get the real criminals (I like to live in hope )
paul_honthy Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Not all are like that mind!i was pulled last weekend for over talking in 60 into 30 zone.the officer very nicely said 2 watch my driving in a built up area,i stated that i was within the legal limit, indicated, and didn't coz anyone to brake or put any-other motorist at risk.he just looked at me, smiled and said "we'll just leave it at that" before walking back 2 his motor.
paddy247 Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Most of the folk in the cops dont have the inter-personal skills or the intergrity to be so, From my experience.
dave_morgan Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Perhaps a bit of a sweeping statement, but my thoughts about a lot of the police force is that they're just power hungry no-bodys who have such a dull life they have to get their kicks by stamping their authority on any situation they can. Unfortunately a lot of us are easy tagets, so we get it. Much easier to stop someone for 35mph in a 30 than it is to catch and arrest someone for dealing drugs or burglary. Not true for everyone in the force obviously, but enough to give them a bad reputation in general.
paddy247 Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Dosent stop the local feds from pulling me though, been pulled 3 times in a year for stupid stuff, Not even the blue light stop resulted in a ticket or fine, Tossers, they were lying in wait about 100 yrds from my house when I returned from the school run this morning, and gave me a look that would kill an indonesian devil.

If so, he can't do you under Scots law without corroboration. They can in Engerland, but not in God's country. If he was on his own then he satisfied his ego trip and went on his way.
st3ph3n Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Welcome to Scotland - put yer foot down a bit further son.
G.T. Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 i love it when they give you the eye and you just give it right back they are all tossers, i remember goin to a turn out one night breaking the speed limit (was very late at night early morning) they pulled me told them where i was goin and they apologised off i went wheel spinning away. barstewards still followed me to make sure though
Croc Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 just for the avoidance of doubt, it wasn;t me that got booked at 32 in a 30, it was a colleague at work. clean licence. p
