jacqui_robb Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Clicky to website: www.ukrallychallenge.co.uk Anyone else going to the Knockhill Uk Rally Challenge this year? It's always an excellent event. We usually go as spectatotors but this year my brother is competing, so we're part of his "team"! Its on sunday 17th July (unfortunately same day as Fast & Modified), but'll be well worth going. Cant beat hearing the Scoobies and MkII Escorts giving it loads Also an excellent spectators event - no wading through snow, or muddy forests - and food on site! We even got sunburnt last year!!! This years rally will also be a tribute to Alan Barr, and Jimmy Macrae will be driving his Subaru.
ScoobyAndy Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 hopefully i'll manage to get there but iam not promising. with a bit of luck i'll be marshalling too.. even if iam not marshallin it'll be worth going to see Jimmy in operation..
jacqui_robb Posted July 13, 2005 Author Posted July 13, 2005 I've been hearing a rumour that this event may be cancelled due to lack of entries Anybody else hear anything???
jacqui_robb Posted July 13, 2005 Author Posted July 13, 2005 Obviously not! Hot off the press... RALLY IS ON!! Less cars than last year, so more stages been run. (i personally think they picked a bad date to hold it). My brother is Car 26
dougster Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Added to the events diary at the top of the page!!
zeolite Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 The reason there are fewer entries is because it is not a round of the Scottish Tarmack Championship this year. This was because of the high entry fee and the fact that the less well off competitors thought they were getting a raw deal. It is also 1 week after the Jim Clark event. A much better event for the competitor IMHO
