gordyN01 Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 HI WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE CAN ANSWER THIS JUST GOT A EXHAUST FOR WR1 FULL DECAT H&S WAS WONDERING WHAT IS A UP PIPE AND ARE THEY WORTH GETTING?
imprezapete Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 If I remember correctly the up pipe runs from the Manifold to the turbo. Some impreza's have a crap up pipe and some have a Cat in them as well. I dont know about the WR1 m8, but a few models/years have 3 Cats and 1 is in that pipe.
jamie_wood Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 Hi there matey The up pipe is the section from the headers to the turbo. Most folk change the up pipe AND the headers at the same time to improve torque figures. Having never changed the pipe on its own I wouldnt like to quote figures on it. Its also a wee bit of a job to change it as the down pipe and headers need to come off. If your going to be de cating the wr1 then I take it your re mapping it at the same time also?
jamie_wood Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 If your looking for good torque figures, then fit a set if you can afford them Your only looking at another hour to fit them. Just put a set on a customers wrx this week and they are a good wee boost Just remember to get new studs and a couple of rolls of heat wrap
gordyN01 Posted July 3, 2005 Author Posted July 3, 2005 I WANT TO KEEP FLAT FOUR BURBLE SO I WILL KEEP HEADERS ON IS THERE 2 UPPIPES?
jamie_wood Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 Theres only one up pipe. I might have one at the workshop from my car before i changed to semis. If your interested I could double check? It has all the studs too, so it would save you buying them. Just an offer, its up too you
