sma01 Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 starting to get a few mods carried out to my car, can anyone advise if i should/shouldnt be getting a dump valve fitted?
sma01 Posted April 8, 2005 Author Posted April 8, 2005 sorry, what i meant was an after market one, like and HKS SSQ BOV??
phil Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 If you like the noise why not No performance increase though
scoobykev Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 thats the one i fitted to mine, doesn't give any extra performance, but i like the sound. there's a thread on here somewhere that says they make the car run lean though
sma01 Posted April 8, 2005 Author Posted April 8, 2005 agree with you re: the sound mate, they do sound great, but if its going to make the car run lean then may be better to leave it for now..
ANDYJDMSTI Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 get it done!!!!! have done it to my past 3 scoobs with no adverse effects. and they have been 2 jdm's and 1 uk300
ANDYJDMSTI Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 have only ever had 2, a bailey and my current one a turbosmart. lots to choose from, best thing to do is to get about people who have them and have a wee listen

Johnny50 Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I've got a vid clip that will let you hear what the HKS SSQV will would sounds like from inside my car when i had it on. I can mail it if you like ?
robinh20mrv Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 hi m8, i am just using a std one, it works fine, unless you just want the noise!!
ormiboy Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 i would spend the cash on something else like gauges. ( unless you already have gauges ) you cant know too much about whats going on under the bonnet. and £100-250 could get you a couple of nice gauges stay safe mate, damn nice car robin good to me you.
Thomohawk Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Alright ser! Defo get an aftermarket dumper, not just cause I'm selling one, but cause they sound suuuuperb!!! HKS SSQV, less than 6 months old and in mint condition, PM me if you're interested. Thomo.
scoobykev Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 << get it done!!!!! have done it to my past 3 scoobs with no adverse effects. and they have been 2 jdm's and 1 uk300 >> surely you can't hear a dump valve in your car with that exhaust,(i had the pleasure of hearing it at dastek)

Gumball Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 cheeky cheeky thomohawk its all relative. buy a cheaper older valve or a newer more expensive one. salesmanship as you say, alls fair, however im not giving it the full rhubarb crumble on the price without being asked.
