YumYum Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 << Any one out there got one? Is it any good etc... >> Hi mate, i havent got 1 personnally, but have sold many units & heard nothing but much goodness reports on them
Gee Wr1 Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Got 1 of these recently of a seller on Ebay For £200 to my door. Think it's a really good piece of kit, just plug it into your diagnostics port & thats it fitted no more wiring needed, my kind of modding Lol Have only set mine up quickly need to go back & have a play about with it. It displays all info the Ecu is recieving can't mind them all of hand but some are: Water temp, Intake temp, Tacho, Speed, Injector cycle, Inlet manifold (Boost) & lots more. These can be displayed in differant ways on screen: 3 line display, 6 line display, or different forms of gauges & meters showing individual readings these can all be changed to show which ever measurment you want. If you don't have a boost gauge in your car you can use this as an electronic one by having the inlet manifold reading assigned to the dial display, looks just like a boost gauge would but in digital, you still see needle moving like you would a gauge also shows recorded peak boost. There is also warning alarms that can be set on each reading. As i said above i need to go back & fiddle with it, all instructions were in Jap but it's very easy to work out. Hope this is useful to you, would recommend it, also looks cool sitting on dash with it's blue display Gee
st3ph3n Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Got one myself. A great investment it was too. I can pretty much mirror everything Gee has to say. I've had mine for a few months now, and it's most of the time set on the "elipse meter" displaying the value of the Inlet Manifold. It is very easy to setup. Plug it in (no need to take power of the cigarette lighter either), fire it up and away you go. Tell it what car manufacturer and then tweak a few settings. The comm wait setting in particular. If you have it set to the default it only updates every 3 seconds, but change it to 0 and it's instant. So it can be properly used as a gauge. All in all well worth the purchase. Although on reflection a nice set of Defis mounted where the clock is would be even more tremendous.
Gee Wr1 Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Here's a pic of it. Know what you mean about the Defi's, trying to save for them now Gee
st3ph3n Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Mine, installed using just the sticky foam pad that came with it. Oh, and another . That shows the bar graph, and the peak value it's stored. Amazing how fast I can go in the back garden.
gary_johnson Posted April 9, 2005 Author Posted April 9, 2005 Thanks guys, found it on e-bay for £200.
Gee Wr1 Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Had a play about with it y'day while waiting for girlfriend getting her hair done. Found loads more readings i didn't know it had & set a few of the warning buzzers, Totally chuffed with it
st3ph3n Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 One thing that would be good was a nice flashing shift light warning. Luckily my G-tech pro RR has a flashing red shift light that works nicely when I have a it plugged in.
Gee Wr1 Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 all newage STI's have shift light as standard, adjustable to whatever revs you want.
Stiks Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Hi, anyone got the instructions for this English.... I got one of e BAY, but my Japanese is a little rusty these days I have it working but could do with some assistance in setting up the readings buzzers etc. Stiks
clutdav Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Hey guys, I really like the idea of having this diagnostics tool in the car - however I really dislike having bits and pieces stuck to the inside of the car that don't look standard. Now I realise that my opinion will be different to a lot of people, I just don't like "stuck-on bits". Is anyone aware of something like this R-Vit that plugs into the AV line of an indash monitor as the display output. I would really be interested to know. It would be very much appreciated. Dave
oobster Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Yum Yum..... how much do you sell these for? & what's the availability?
