Scottish Scoobies Clothing!!!

Hey People..

Imy (micra-wrc) and myself have been given the nod from Phil Stephens to have some promotional clothing made up for sale. After seeing pics of other clubs at different events we feel its important to make our presence known - the more people know we're here the better, more money for the club and more newbies for us!! face-icon-small-happy.gif

We are currently sourcing materials and pulling together some ideas so any suggestions and comments will be greatfully accepted - it'd be nice to have some male input unless you all want pink t-shirts (STI pink of courseface-icon-small-tongue.gif) KIDDING boys!!!

We will try to have the catalogues and sketches available at the next few meets or I'll post up anything I feel we should look at or need comments on.

We are also looking at getting flyers and a small, portable, frameless banner made up. The banner can be rolled up and stored in someone's boot when not in use and tied between 2 cars when we are out and about and parked up.

We are getting quotes at the mo and will let you know how we get on

Cheers for reading and hope you all don't mind us going ahead with this!!

Laters,

Gayle and Imy

Sounds okay

If Phil is happy , then you should be fine.

Just need to watch with the banner though.

We dont want it being stuck up at events that are not Backed by the club.

Dont want it at the likes of a dodgy cruise where the police are called and our name is spread accross the front of carsface-icon-small-wink.gif

Crail,Knockhill,Kames, etc will be good though. It will,as you say, make folk aware of usface-icon-small-smile.gif

The number one thing to remember about SIDC is that its Drivers club, and not just another gathering of loons in loud carsface-icon-small-sad.gif

Anyway, good work you two. Keep us posted regarding the clothing.

I would say, polo shirts with a simple Scottish Scoobies printed on

it and SIDC on the other side?

Good idea. I take it the clothing is Scottish Scoobies specific as several of us already have SIDC type clothing, which is available to buy.

I'd certainly purchase something with Scottish Scoobies/SIDC and the flag on it...

great idea - the car stickers had a good take up so this should get good support too

BTW - Now't wrong with STI pink - on a blue and gold garment face-icon-small-wink.gifface-icon-small-wink.gifface-icon-small-smile.gif

I say Ok but anything definately has to have SIDC on it as we are a branch of the SIDC and not a seperate entity.

I also agree with Jamie about where we would make our prescence known. IMHO 1/4 mile events are not what this club is about.

The club is happy to finance banners for official meets etc

You will have seen the SIDC Flags that we will start to roll out

We have sourced a better 3 part version that will with a little cutting fits into the boot of an Impreza

Find a local sponsor and we can do something like these

Essex Scooby Crew Flag - SIDC Logo ESC Logo Sponsored by Xtreme Scoobies

CADS - SIDC Logo CADS Logo Sponsored by Worrell Power Solicitors

Spot on M8 - judicious use of banners etc, for SIDC sponsored and sanctioned events only.

Point taken boys - although I must say - I was at 'Chav Crail Day' as part of the subaru family, not an SIDC official meet, and I felt quite proud of our cars there and they generated alot of interest. Loads of people were admiring them and asked us loads of advice and questions (which I let the boys answer of course face-icon-small-wink.gif )

In my opinion we done the SIDC proud face-icon-small-wink.gif

However - i shall refrain from hanging the banner on the side of my house too, neighbours hate the scooby enough thanks face-icon-small-tongue.gif

you go girl!!!

as well as the chavs that attend crail, there are alot of "normal" people go too!!! the SIDC members that went on sunday (myself included) had a great day and generated alot of interest from other drivers.. have no doubts that we enhanced the growing reputation of SIDC.

I don't mean any offence to you or to the pepole at the Crail thingie but I live just off one of the roads to Crail and some of the driving is insane. Also the attention you got may be a two edged sword if you know what I mean. I wouldn't let anyone there know where you lived. I am sure you have seen the threads about the stolens Scoob and car thefts. that kind of puts a damper on the flag at your house too although I would have come to visit. face-icon-small-happy.gif

I admire your enthusiasm and don't want to discourage you but the SIDC has carved it's owned place and has a unique niche I think. It is out of the mass of "chavdom" and not in the eliteism of the sportscar clubs. In fact we are accessible to both as the SIDC track days show. The track days are the jewel in the crown and very highly regarded. Some people even come all the way from the south of England (eh Phil)

This is just my opinion and I am not trying to upset anyone. I realise everyone is not as old or as anti-social as me.

what wrong with 1/4 mile events??? i thought the purpose of a drivers club would be to encourage users to develop there driving skills? wether it be on track days, 1/4 miles or muddy fields- would rather see it done there than on the public highways!!!!!! NO??

thats the beauty of a broad specrum, and diversity of members each from different backgrounds!!!! i enjoy going to track days, runs, and shows just as much as 1/4 mile events!!!!!!

JUST REMEMBER !! not everyone has the same opinion of what is fun !!

thanks for the comments.

The Scottish Scooby clothing will have SIDC on it, so it is clear that we are part of the SIDC.

wrt the banner and possible events in which it should be used, i agree it should be used on official SIDC outings.

For events organised by other marques, the scooby representation is fantastic and our cars already have SIDC stickers on them so there may not be a need to roll out the banner.

there is a unqiue mix of regulars and newbies here and we should be able to compromise and get along without lowering the tone of the club.

think phil's idea might be worth investigating.... could use an already manufactured SIDC t-shirt then add a scottish scoobies logo or/and people's user names?
