TypeRA28 Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 Just checked my gear box dip stick, and it is on the L. What do I use to fill it up, and where do I fill it up. Sorry if this seems very straight forward, but I am not very mechanicaly minded, but I am quite keen to learn.
gordon_kerr Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Right ok, now i feel really silly but............where is the dipstick for the gearbox oil?
spooks Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Can be found just under your intercooler, turbo side. Spooks
wilky Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Next to the turbo under the heatshieldy bit. I use Automatic transmittion Fluid in my gearbox and fill it well above the full line to ensure gear2 gets lubed. ATF is thinner than the rest so ensures the highly strung scooby box gets lubed and cooled. Your mad? Maybe I am but its lasted my 30000 miles and not a cheep! and the oil was the cleanest Id seen during the changes. Skyliners use it as well. Rear diff get 75/90 though Callum W
Oilman Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 In a manual box I would use 75w-90 semi or fully synthetic. Cheers Simon
