gordon_kerr Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 With regard to Spince having his car stolen, i have got advice for all owners from my brother who is a copper in Falkirk, its sensible advice but it may save your scooby one day Further to my last e mail you can advise your members that Subaru Impreza are highly favoured by a car thief gang who cover central and west coast of scotland. Their MO(Modus Operandi)(way they steal the car) is to steal car keys using a coat hanger feeding it through the letter box of the house owner and hooking the car keys. Once they have obtained the keys they then steal the car. The householder then wakes up to find the car gone but no forced entry. I believe this was identical to the one used in the case outlined by your member. Advise all your members not to leave their car keys hanging in the door lock of their houses. This should help as the Impreza is quite a hard car to steal unless they have the keys. Hope this helps

sma01 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 keys now well hidden, garage being tidied out to house the car and burglar alarm being extended to cover the garage also...... can only imagine how Spince must be feeling, these people really are the scum of the earth...... hope they manage to catch the barstewards!!!
gordon_kerr Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 Perhaps Cameron would like to lock this thread to allow all uk owners the same advice, Spince i cant say too much on here as you never know who is reading it mate, i can assure you there is lots of work being done to resolve your car mate
Gumball Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 i feel better after that post. since spince got his car nicked i have been very anxious indeed and have constant trouble sleeping with the thought of bams stealing my sti. i have employed fierce measures this week including stop locks, in fact im not going to say. But hiding the keys and knowing that its a hard car to steal makes me feel much better.
