harry_hood Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Got an exhaust system on my wagon thats too loud ,cannae even have a conversation above 70, any one know the best system that still gives a good note but not as noisy,
wrxmania Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Try these guys - they'll build you EXACTLY what you need and want at a very good price. C&C Custom Stainless Exhausts in Hillington Many oher guys on here will vouch for them - they'll build as noisy or as quiet as you like. Brian
Gumball Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 could try AWD depending on where you stay? I flew up there last year and got a HAYWARD&SCOTT box that was fantastic. scooby rubbles without a headache
ANDYJDMSTI Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Noise noise noise...........................that's what you want!!!!!!! Nuts to talking you can do that when you are a pensioner.
sma01 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Agree with Andy, the louder the better Chris, how did you find the Hayward and Scott?thats the downpipe I'm getting fitted in the next couple of weeks
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Subaru WR Sport + unresonated centre section = luverly burble All cats in place too ( for how long though ) From experience you pass a point where you want more noise and the over step the mark. Louder = better & more grins but :- - Pisses off neighbours - You look like a chav in the work car park - Its SO annoying above 70 mph on m'way But what they hay ! The louder the better Cal
boabster Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 yep c&c....got one on mine very noisy..just the way i like it. At 70 the noise is not too bad (BEARABLE)
jcscoob Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 mine is dead LOAD and it sounds f**in mad (snakehead)
dougster Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 What exactly do you have and where? I could be interested in a swap if suitable.
p3dro Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I like loud, can't hear much conversation in my car above 80 but it sounds soooo nice I drive with my windows down. Growl Whooosh pop bang burble
Johnny50 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 You could always just change your centre for a magnex resonated one...or go and see C&C and get themn to whack in a centre box.
ian_finlayson Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I've got an H&S downpipe and decat on my RB5 and it sounds amazing. Lovely rumble around town, great in the clyde tunnel and nice and quiet ( not silent) at 70. The best combo I have ever heard. At turbo boost time the note really hardens and goes crazy, I love it Oh and a prodrive rear box.
wrxmania Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 << You could always just change your centre for a magnex resonated one...or go and see C&C and get themn to whack in a centre box. >> Or even better, whack out a centre box if you still have one Nah - C&C could quieten it down for you with a silencer which does not restrict the car much. Brian
gordon_kerr Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Surely if your car is in fifth gear @70 mph you will only be doing around 2000rpms, if it is too loud at that rev range it must be some bit of kit, you never bought it off AndyJDMSTI did you? What kind of exhaust is it?
Stiks Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Im not on Brian's commission structure but c and c will make it up for you to sound exactly how you like. If you want loud at 30 and quieter ( relatively) at 70 they can do that I love my 3" cat back system, and yes it pi$$es of the neighbours. Dont talk or play music ( OEM stereo is crap anyway) just listen ....

If so your car is gorgeous I had proper scooby envy its one of my faves.
Vixter Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 << Got an exhaust system on my wagon thats too loud ,cannae even have a conversation above 70, any one know the best system that still gives a good note but not as noisy, >> Too loud there ain't such a thing. lol The louder the better
ian_finlayson Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Not me pedro but I'll be at some meets soon. Thanks for that though. The RB5 was my fave classic (apart from P1 of course) and I love it, need more power now though. I sense and intercooler tilt kit and stainless intercooler splitter coming on soon
harry_hood Posted April 4, 2005 Author Posted April 4, 2005 It was on the car when i bought it,think its been custom made, it pops on the over run and the wife tells me it sounds like a hooligans car lol
harry_hood Posted April 9, 2005 Author Posted April 9, 2005 had a look when the car was over the pit today,it is a Scorpion cat back system but it has a massive tail pipe been welded on,so at least i can just buy another Scorpion back box.
jasonb Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 i have a full stainless steel mongoose system that sounds good but not to loud, i am now looking for a louder exuast system, would you be interested in a swop????????
