andrew_lally Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Recently bought an 95 scoobie wrx import.....and am looking to service it....which engine oil is recommended....nearest performance outlet recommended millers 10-60..... any help would be appreciated....cheers
wilky Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Miller 10 60 is great for the older cars, the thermal dynamic qualities of it are very good also, ie it will assist more with the cooling of the car as well. Because it is a top notch oil you can leave it for 4000miles between changes as opposed to 3000, I use it when I can get it Callum W
andrew_lally Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 Took the old oil out....seemed to have a smell of petrol about it....is this normal or is this maybe an overfueling prob????
the squiggle Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Smell of petrol in the old oil is not that good but you are doing the right thing by changing the oil. Does the car have a Aftermarket dump valve, if so this could be your cause. You could also be over fuelling dramatically, best to get it checked out. Grant
andrew_lally Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 Yes the car has an aftermarket dump valve.....you say this may the problem......could you explain how this would happen????
SIMBO Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 i use the motul 300v seems to help with noisy tappets on my 93 wrx cheers david
Oilman Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Would recommend Silkolene PRO S 10w-50 for your car. Cheers Simon
