fraser_drinkwater Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Im getting the brief sorted for the Mad One and currently using all the Autoglym gear, but willing to give summin else a go. So I was just wondering what other products are recomended and where to get the bad boys. Cheers THE SWIGG.......
catalunya80 Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Recomend zymol for washing the car first. Gives it a great shine just with washing alone.
Stiks Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Meguiars - you can buy it on Ebay.... great range of products. I use the NXT wax it is superb stuff. Also got some product from Mark Underwood aka the Wax Wizard - MC2 fab for the alloys and shampoo. Mr NTS and Wrxmania will testify how good his products are. Keith
oobster Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 i agree with stiks - meguiars polish is ace - only recently started using it after years of using MER and Meguiars is much better
p3dro Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Swissol is sposed to be amazing but it aint cheap. I feel left out cos I'm not aloud to "buff my beauty"
Rice Rocket Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Swiggmeister!! Why didnt you pick my brians last nite, you did with everything else ;-) Meguiars is the best, thats all i ever use, if you need it today i'll get you the LOT at a good price along with the gauges ;-) if you want to meet me this afternoon i'll take you up to my mates shop. Fone me after half one and left me know. Ricey
sti-zlv Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 As Paul says..........MAGUIARS is the dogs danglies I'm on wash n wax detail tommorrow Matt
wrxmania Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Swissol but Meguairs will also be very good. Any good wax NOT polish will be good if used regularly. Brian
RS Grant Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Use Zymol from Halfrauds...... Never had any complaints, if you follow the reasonably long process it tells you to on the back the car comes up very nicely. However, willing to give Meguairs a shot when I'm needing a new bottle. Cheers, Grant
wilky Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 I use turtle wax, and very rarely wash the car as you have probably noticed, doesnt make you any quicker you know and girls are more likely to notice a mocket rocket amongst all the clean and shiney ones, eg; Sharon- "My look at all those shiney fast subarus! there all so clean and dazzling like a new pin!" Tracey-"Yes but isnt that so booooooorring, all they do is shine their cars!" Sharon- "F****N H**L ! did you see that manky white scooby just warp by us?" Tracey- "No I must have blinked" Sharon- "The driver was gorgeous, bet he goes like a steam hammer!" Tracey- " Hes not bothered about cleaning his car, what a rebel!!" I rest my case M' lord.
micra_wrc Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 ah wilky, must be nice living in your own wee world. as a girl, i must admit the cleaner shinier scoobs catch my eye, but not as much as all you good looking drivers! Imy
2559B Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 PMSL !!!! ........ quick! get to the muddy field !!!!!!!!!
wilky Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Sharon-"Did you see the handsome dude in the red classic with the side exit?" Tracey-"Yes! what a hunk! But I also saw his girlfriend shaking her fist at me and the window was vibrating as she roared obscenities at us!" Sharon-"Wow! there goes that manky white car again!!" Tracey-"Yes I saw the driver this time, what a hunkahunka burnin love!!!" No further questions M'Lord.
andy_robertson Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Meguiars def mate! use the clay really brings a great look!
wrxmania Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Wilky, Have to keep the windows clean or she won't see you through the dirt - can't have your flame hidden behind the dirt!! Speaking of "quick - into the field" - that is what attracts Imy to Grant - he likes fields Brian
fraser_drinkwater Posted March 25, 2005 Author Posted March 25, 2005 A think Meguiars it may be then!!!!
Hepy Posted March 26, 2005 Posted March 26, 2005 I swissoled mine today. Took me about 4 hours, (I don't have a life). It's expensive stuff but if you are prepared to put in the time and effort it comes up good. I have the clay bar,car bath, cleaner fluid, tyre shine, and samurai wax.
wilky Posted March 26, 2005 Posted March 26, 2005 (Wilky, defeated, heads off to the garage for his turtlewax before going to the pub for the mandatory 10 pints of lager)
dougster Posted March 26, 2005 Posted March 26, 2005 I could contact Mark Underwood aka Wax Wizard to see where he is with his new product. He is the genius behind the Swissol product and has left them to work on development of another concoction of his own!!! I have always used his products and tips. The engine cleaner and degreaser is AMAZING!!! Wax aint to shabby either!!!
Grovit Posted March 26, 2005 Posted March 26, 2005 Haven't yet used Meguirs but have only ever heard good stuff about it. However a bi-monthly go over full body wax treatment with Auto-glym does the trick for me (oh - the car likes it as well !!)
wilky Posted March 26, 2005 Posted March 26, 2005 Baaaaa! Okay duggy see what you can whip me up. Callum
