All of these are so vague, i think i might know what bugeye is as i may have one, then again it could be a new age wrx, can any decent soul out there explain or define what each of these really are and how the name derived.

Hi Gordon,

Classics are all the cars up to 2000

Bug Eye is the 01-02 cars with the roundish headlights, Hence the bugeye name.

Wagon is the estate(sorry wagon owners easiest way to describe)

Sedans are same as saloons

New age refers to all cars 01 onwards

Wr1 =face-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-happy.gif special edition 04 car to cellebrate Petter Solbergs Wrc chapionship win. Came with 320 as standard DCCD(1st uk car to have this) ice blue colour etc

There is also Fugly, derogatory term for any non classic Impreza..........F*cking Ugly

Ditto for Bugly, derogatory term for the Bugeye.....................................Bloody Ugly

JDM refers to cars originally built for the Japanese Domestic Market

In Classic format the Uk cars were known as 2000 turbo and the JDM cars were called WRX

Uk Special Editions

P1 is a 2 door classic

22b Type UK is a wide body 2 door classic

Terzo is a 4 door classic

Catalunya is a 4 door classic

McRae Edition is a 4 door classic

RB5 is a 4 door classic

UK300 is a 4 door Bugeye

WR1 is a 4 door New Age

JDM cars have a variety of Special Editions

Here are just some of them

STI Versions 1-6 is a 4/5 door classic

STI Prodrive Edition is a 4 door bugeye

Limited came as either 2 door coupe or 4 door classic

V-Limited is a 4 door classic

555 Edition is a 4 door classic

22b is a wide body 2 door classic

STI RA is a 4 door classic

Type R is a 2 door classic

RA is a 4 door classic

Spec C is a 4 door new age

There is also a series of Impreza that were not built by Subaru. In order to get round the Gentlemans agreement in Japan which prevents manufacturers building cars with an output of over 276 bhp. A company called Impreza was formed to get round this problem. On these cars there is not 1 item with a Subaru marking on it and they were all called S series. First of these cars was the S201 up to the current S203

Bollox, i have been looking out for that car every day when i visit Dumfries. Jambo what is the last 3 letters of your regi plate, to make spotting you a tad easier. I will be the nutter flashing you from a Merc Sprinter DHL van

Del, outside the UK there is numerous special editions and i only listed the main models.

2003 WRC V Limited was the name for the WR1 outside of the UK.

There was also the Impreza GX Turbo, a Japan only special that had jacked up suspension, 2 tone paint and the spare wheel on the bootlid.
