scoobiz Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Does anyone know a local breakers. I have been ringing around like mad trying to get a part for the scoob and im just getting no-where!! Even a place with salvage would be useful!!
dougster Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 What do you need and someone might be able to help. And where is 'local' to you?
scoobiz Posted January 21, 2005 Author Posted January 21, 2005 I stay not far from glasgow although would be willing to travel! Looking for a drivers side roof rail, been looking for ages! The cars going in on monday to get dents done, front splitter etc but dont want to bring it out looking mint with no bloody roof rail! really need one asap...
Highlander68000 Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I know there is one in Glasgow but they ripped my friend off (by taking his money and not sending the goods) so I wouldn't recommend them. The only one I know of is Grade A Subaru Breakers
Carl Davey Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 From personal experience Grade A are ridiculously expensive. I use Glenburgie, but then i am terribly biased. £60 for a pair of JDM 'folding' mirrors, need i say more? EDIT: they do mail order.
scoobiz Posted January 22, 2005 Author Posted January 22, 2005 Well recently I have bought a heater matrix, front splitter and calipers from Grade A and was beginning to think they were expensive. I was given Glenburgie's details and the guy David put me in contact with a few breakers but no one can seem to supply a roof rail! He said he would do it although it is very fragile and the delivery would cost more than the actual roof rail. Think all in its going to cost me about £65 when it should be about £25! Wish i could get one local so I can get it fitted, looks poor without it...
Carl Davey Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Buy a pair. Helps justify the postage and you'll be sure they match.
scoobiz Posted January 22, 2005 Author Posted January 22, 2005 Sorry for the dumb question, just checking your site out!
pmacFTO Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 This site is great - you post your request and then loads of companies call you with prices and you haggle I got about 12 calls in the 2 hours after I posted - then played them off against each other Clicky
