boabster Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 just got my a pillar through today from nomad racing. it has a space for 2 gauges 1 will be a boost gauge what other gauge swill be most useful along with the boost gauge was thinking an air fuel ratio gauge but are they really essential was also thinking an oil pressure or oil temp gauge ant ideas what would be best suited
wrxmania Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 I have an oil temperature gauge beside my boost gauge. That is really useful as it lets you know when the car is properly warm (long after the thermostat needle has reached normal) and also lets you see when/if it's overheating, such as in standing traffic. I have attached a semi-rubbish quality photo of my gauges (as installed by the Central RO Jamie) taken whilst in standing traffic on the M8 in the snow Tuesday morning. Oh and one of the snow at my house on Tuesday morning. Brian
boabster Posted January 20, 2005 Author Posted January 20, 2005 hmmmmmmm...never thought about this but were is the best place to get the gauges (scratching my head) and who does good gauges preferably white face ones
dave_morgan Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 J W Racing have a good range and have pretty good prices. www.j-w-racing.com (I think) HTH Dave
dougster Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 I have Blitz boost gauge in a defi pod, Scoobymania (Link internals) AFR and Knocklink.
ozzy Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Autometer Boost + SPA dual oil temp/pressure Masked off faces and re-sprayed bezels in the same silver finish.
spooks Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Id recomend an AFR guage if yer paranoid about how your car runs, or a oil preasure guage if your worried about its past Spooks
colin_ross Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Just spotted the mileage in that photo Dougster, just the daft sort of thing I'd do.
