jamie_wood Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 There dont seem to be anything happening over the next wee while in Scotland, SIDC related I mean Looks like Grant has got a good blast organised for March, but apart from that its all pretty sleepy Coluld do with some more action. Should we be having more regular meets or events in out regions or are we, as a group, happy with the amount of action?? P.s Who was made RO for the regions that were vacant?? Just wondered?? I would just like to add that I am in no way saying anything bad about the SIDC or the current RO's, I am only asking as Im interested in the plans for the first quarter of the year Please dont shoot me
wrxmania Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 West Lothian meet just passed, Ayrshire meet just passed, Glasgow meet end of this months, Ayrshire meet next month, Edinburgh meet coming soon, Mad March One etc, SIDC National meet and possible another big meet if it can be organised. Seems still a reasonable amount on the go for a relatively small community. Also, meets like Ayrshire and Glasgow should now be happening every month regularly now. How's life anyway Jamie - any luck with the car sale? Brian
jamie_wood Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 When you put it like that...............its nae too bad i guess, just seems like theres nowt north of Glasgow these days. Perhaps I need to move house I going to nip up to the dundee meet and get to know the guys up there a bit better. What ever happened to the trip to Drive in Falkirk?? I was thinking it would be good to have a wee event to look forward too in the next month or two, ie Go karting or somefink. And, no, the cars not doing anything just now, but I dont expect to sell her through any of the forums. Looks like an Autotrader job
johns Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Jamie, just waiting on dates from Knockhill, hoping to get a date in March booked up. We've also got the monthly Aberdeen meeting. Traditionally, we would have a Perth meet around the end of Jan (not done for the past few years). We tend not to plan too many events in the first two months of the year, as a) People are skint after Xmas/New Year etc The weather is very unpredictable, meaning people are reuluctant to travel long distances is the weather is going to be crap. ROs - we're discussing this at the moment, and should have everything finalised later this week John
john_robertson Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Like Brian said big changes at DRIVE - now Morrisons, IIRC Spooks was looking into this. What happened about the MLR Vs SIDC Karting event? did it fall through? John.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 If you're really "cold turkeying" for a decent run at the end of this month then CLICK ME There'll will be 3 Scoobs and a Lancer to keep you company amongst the Type R's. The route is Optimax / Scoob friendly A few us are meeting at Braehead first - run through Clyde Tunnel and up to Stirling via the twisties. I'm going home at the end of the day but the remainiing squadron will be finishing at Perth and then going on the sesh Just a thought ........ Cal
kennyi Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 << If you're really "cold turkeying" for a decent run at the end of this month then CLICK ME >> ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ What he said All welcome, there might be a slight change to the route on the Aberfeldy to Perth stage (as I buggered it up first time) but it will still be optimax friendly. Route maps etc will be handed out on the day.

Grovit Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Jamie, Swiggi & Matt - do you want your names added to list on the TRS site....? As Cal says btw - road etiquette is excellent on these trips, different groups for different speeds and we all regroup at intervals along the way. Should be good fun, there's quite a few folk going so you're more than welcome
