murray_marshall Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 I have two RE070s for sale, they are 225/45-17 and are new (delivery mileage) Make me an offer - A sensible one ! These are very sticky tyres. BTW - What is brown and sticky ?
johns Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 How about a half chewed toffee caramel sweet ? John PS That's what's brown and sticky, and not an offer for the tyres
murray_marshall Posted November 29, 2004 Author Posted November 29, 2004 Not what I was thinking of but yes a half chewed caramel sweetie is indeed brown and sticky. Want to buy some tyres ????
david_farmer Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 << BTW - What is brown and sticky ? >> Please sir! I know this - A stick
murray_marshall Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 I actually have 4 of these as the guy who wanted to buy two has deceided they wouldn't suit his car !!! I believe they are horrendously expensive to buy but I am a nice guy and only want around £90 each for them. But will listen to offers - I have selective deafness though
johns Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 These tyres will cost you £180 each inc VAT (but not delivery) from Powerstation! I know, because I phoned up to ask about buying a set.
murray_marshall Posted December 1, 2004 Author Posted December 1, 2004 But I am not a greedy chap John, and they are no good for my new car they are just taking up space in the garage, so if i get something for them and someone gets use of them everybody wins. Somebody must want some good sticky tyres cheap !
Stiks Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I have the crappy REO 40's on mine, but two are a bit low on tread. Any restrictions on REO 40's on the back and 70's on the front ?? If not I'd be interested. Keith
murray_marshall Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 Stiks I don't know if they would be a good mix or not, but you could buy all four RE070s and solve the problem that way. They are really cheap at £90each CT
johns Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Stiks, I'd do one of the following: a) stick your two worn tyres on the rear, and even out the wear so you need to replace all 4 tyres at once. I'd still be tempted to buy the 4 new tyres just now though at a good price. buy the 4 new tyres, and fit them as a matched set, keeping the worn ones for track use etc. If I was to fit only two tyres, then I'd fit the newer ones to the rear of the car, as it would be potentially more dangerous to have sticky ones at the front, and less grippy ones at the rear, especially in the wet. I have heard of people having accidents in the situation where the front has a lot more grip in certain circumstances than the rear. John
Stiks Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 John, Thanks for the advice - if funds permit in the next week or so I would probably go for 4. Keith
