derek_robertson Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Hi Andy Got any pics of those graphics m8? Nice to see your car in F&M I see you're going to the Galloway Hills Rally, fancy meeting up at Dalmellington for the run down to St.Johns Town of Dalry where we will meet up with the rest of the group. Cheers, Del
andrew_duff Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Thats a great idea as malks is driving , what time and where in Dalmellington as its bandit country !
derek_robertson Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Dalmellington to CD should take no more than an hour, how about 7am at the only filling station on your right as you enter the village. It will be shut at that time in the morning no bandits about Del
malky Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 I managed to get about £100 in donations from my work today, so I will be busy at the weekend buying & rapping more presents. I have attached some pictures of the stickers we have got from Underground Graphics in Ayr, my brother will find out about the cost of them & post it tomorrow. I think it would look smart if the ten cars that are going to the hospital all had theses.
malky Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 All right folks, we are looking for one last big push for prezzies for the Santa Cruz for the children of Yorkhill. Please remember that this is being run by Scottish members & next year we could be delivering toys to sick/under privileged kids in your area. We need all the Scottish members to dig deep to make it a good Christmas for the kids. PS I am high jacking all the threads as I feel quite disappointed that more members are not getting involved.
malky Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 First one to complain, i bet you wished you hadn't, we might have to send the Grinch round. I feel you may have went OTT with the flooding of the scottish scoobies board, I agree we need to help the santa cruise but there is no need to hijack every post, we are ALL aware this event is happening and most have either given or are taking part. Hope you dont take this the wrong way. Spooks Malkys Reply I know many members may have already given to this good cause but I am unhappy at the support that we have got from the SIDC regional organisers i.e. NONE. Maybe me high jacking the posts will give them a kick up the arse they need. Sometimes you have to do extremes to get action. Thanks. PS I am going to post your reply up on the board because I don't believe in PM's, if you want to have a go or a dig then please do it on line so that all the members that have put the time & effort into this good cause can see them. Thanks. Malky
WRC No 1 Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 look people there is no need 4 all this yes we could have had a bit more help from the higher people but there 2 busy with other things i think the people that are involved in the yorkhill cruise have done an excellent job 4 the time that weve had 2 do this cause it was left so late as all the people know. other info = claire has started the banner 4 the cruise and claire will be taking the pics if no body is doing so. it will be a good day 4 all of us just think only next week people chill out and have a drink ??? wullie
dougster Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 Cheers Wullie. I did explain my present situation to yourself, Claire and Barry. I thought it would have been sorted out by now but unfortunately I could do with a little charity myself this Xmas. The wagon is now SORN and will remain so for a while. (I did say I could have got an S2000 or a Type-R for the day but you want it scoobies only!! ) Comment's from Malky do not help, and in my opinion the aggressive manner of the posts and spamming the board could be detrimental to the cause. The guys who have been involved have done a great job and you have the numbers you wanted. (PS if anyone gets the Clydebank Post you will see our local, Glen Lusset Angling and Sporting Society's £1000 raised for Cash For Kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
phil Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 Guys You don't need to be a "Regional Organiser" to have succesfull events You have done a cracking Job lets not get bitter and twisted Remember regional organisers are just people like yourself they are not PAID So lets get on with these great events Lookin forward to pic's
billyboy Posted December 5, 2004 Author Posted December 5, 2004 add on another 6 prezzies and two tins of sweets for the staff. also we are fast approaching 2005 a new year for us all.lets stop all the bitching now and start 2005 on a new footing and build the scottish scoobies into an organisation where we all get on together and organise more meets.we dont want to end up like @@@@@@net do we?
wrxmania Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 Well said Billyboy, It pretty much is what it should be, the odd "moment" aside. The issues which were prevalent on another widely used bulletin board were related to the moderation and running of it - which is not an issue here - the issues here seem to be personal, or misguided. There is no reason for bad feeling - this is the internet, not real life and an interest in Subaru is what brings us here firstly, secondly to build up connections and meet friends with similar interests. For that it has been very useful. Long live SIDC. Brian

derek_robertson Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 "Jingle Bells","Jingle Bells".....................that's better,a we bit o' the christmas spirit is whats needed folks All those who have taken part in organising the Santa Cruise have done extremely well in the short space of time to get it off the ground. It would be a shame to see it tarnished with any missunderstandings,I'm sure Malky's intention was just to give the Cruise one final push & not to offend anyone. Cheers, make mine a double Del
zeolite Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 << I'm sure Malky's intention was just to give the Cruise one final push & not to offend anyone. >> I am sure you are right scoobay perhaps Malky could confirm this and i think an apology to Spooks is in order too. Sorry to go off topic.
spooks Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 Pity he didnt have the decency to speak to me....... Right first off my postion is that I dont see the need to flood EVERY post with this subject, second if he feel like I am a grinch no problem you picked the wrong person i have done many, many charitable events on behalf of British Heart Foundation, CF trust, CF Dream holidays and also the CF unit for the Western General to name a few......... giving is not a problem. Third I think its great that you feel the need to kick the butts of the regional organisers yet I dont think he bothered asking anyone to make a big push, mmmm very good. Sorry to rant but Im no happy with this, why drag my name through the mud for having an opinion............... just because I sent you a personal mail to say I think you were a tad OTT.............. had I realised this had been posted I would have responded earlier believe me. Mods If I have went over the top feel free to remove or adjust. To the rest of SIDC I apologise for the rant Spooks
the squiggle Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Apology in order me thinks Spooks and Rosie have done loads of there own backs to help all the members of this BBS and i dont think there was any need to publicise what was sent as a "PRIVATE message". Rosie raises thousands for charities throughout the year for damn good cause's Malky i applaud you for your efforts in trying to make one more push before the weekend, i just think you could have handled the situation a bit better Grant
