dougster Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 I'm thinking of taking the scoob off the road 'officially' at the end of this week. What should I do, who should I call etc? I have a private 'off road' parking space but how do I prove that it is legally off the road and should I expect a road tax and insurance rebate? TIA. Dougster (next month I will be mainly walking )
CAZ1562 Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Whens the road tax due ? Mines is OTR at the moment too, my RT was due 31/10/04 and I SORN'd the car via the normal DVLA paperwork way. Go to the post office with the road tax reminder and tick SORN, they give you a slip of paper. A week or so later you get a letter from the DVLA to confirm the said car is OTR and SORN'd. You do not need to prove anything as long as it isn't on the road IYKWIM
dougster Posted November 25, 2004 Author Posted November 25, 2004 But is on 'private' land? I do need the insurance though as I have my mum's Civic SE exec to play in. Busy day on the phone tomorrow!!
DEVLIN Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 No , you wont need insurance if its on private land but private land wont stop theives trying to nick it. So definately an "advantage" to keep it insured.
