Hamish-WRX Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Have at last seen the light (Honda VTEC fan for many years!) and have recently bought myself a new WRX. As yet it is totally unmodified but the plan is to wait until the 10,000 mile service and get the PPP fitted. (Doing almost 2,000 miles a month so will arrive soon enough)Couple of questions:- What does the PPP do to your insurance? (Currently paying £500 FC) Does the price vary from dealer to dealer? How much of a difference do you really notice? Ta.
p3dro Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Welcome to the forum PPP will make a huge difference, sound much sweeter. More power throughout the rev range, pulls away much cleaner. Shouldn't make a "huge" difference to the insurance if with a Subaru friendly insurer Price is generally the same
stephen_fergus2 Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Hi Hamish , Welcome .. I agree with Pedro , PPP makes car pull a lot stronger , from lower revs esp. and adds a bit more "burble " to the zorst too As for the price .. it's more or less the same from the dealers ... BUT .. don't forget to ask for ur 10% SIDC discount !!!! Insurance companies work in different ways ,some recognise the PPP and some split it up as Exhaust upgrade , Chip management and 18% power increase , which will increase ur premium .. so fish around . Hope this helps , Where are u ? Dont forget to go along to any of the local meets to say hello ! Cheers, Steve
Hamish-WRX Posted November 18, 2004 Author Posted November 18, 2004 Thanks all - PPP soon then. I'm in Aberdeen
