scoobykev Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 just wanted to say hello to everyone. i've had the scoob just over a year now but i'm new to this computer lark. Also, car has full subaru service history but thinking about taking it to AWD in perth, any comments on them would be appreciated.
MY94 Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I travel from Edinburgh to AWD for all my cars work............top guys.
Scoobylav Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Welcome Kev, Good to see another taysider. There are a few of us from around the Dundee area who meet up an a regular basis. The next meet we will be at is on the 20th. It is the Dundee Cruise meet at the Kingsway retail park I think it kicks off around 8pm, there will be a few of the dundee ricers there See you soon, Ian MY97 Reddish Blue Wagon
Big Daz Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Hello Dude & Welcome. For servicing try Kennith Melville on the Dundee/Perth Road, They have top notch Mechanics there. Hopefully see you at the meet on the 20th ? Daz
RS Grant Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Hi mate, Welcome to SIDC!! Whats the spec on your Scoob, I'll keep an eye out for you around Dundee. Cheers, Grant
jimmymc Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 im another one who travels to awd to get work done. wouldnt go anywhere else. i took my scooby there when it still had a years warranty on it because i knew it would be done right (servicing). ive recently sold the scooby and bought a civic type r and a pulsar. ive been to awd with the pulsar and the guys are sorting out a few teething problems at great prices.if honda act the goat like scooby dealers do then itl go to awd aswell! to be honest id be sceptical about buying a scooby with full dealer history after the problems i had with dealers! anyway welcome! cheers jimmy
duke Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 daz, wheres this kenneth melville on the perth road, tahts my stomping ground and if theres a good garage tehre i'll need to check it out - what like, prices? also when u passed in the opposite direction the other day on the lochee road that was some grumble - u had other bits done? kev, I've found AWD easy to deal with and although an incident occurred last clutch change, they recitifed the mistake without any hassle which is/was better than most garages. Grant is a freindly chap and should se you alright. Others will have differing opinions but you'll not find a garage that everyone reccomends the same, overall i'd say in my experience AWD are the best local garage. Dundee, unfortunately is not blessed with very good garages - wouldnt even take my old orion to some of them! theres been a few new scoobs recently around in dundee - came across dude in a black <97 one on the kingsway and we introduced ourselves - also seen a red, green and a few silver ones, all older shape, floating around the law/lochee road hilltown area quite a bit. quite a crowd of you guys now, just makes the proper 4wd jap turbo stand out better cya all on 20th - whats the plan if any?
Big Daz Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Kenneth Melvilles is on the A90 towards Perth (shell garage opposite Little Horn Cafe) It is a Subaru Dealership Car Noise - FIRESTORM. Nuff said Daz
Scoobylav Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 What time does it kick off on the 20th is it 8pm ?
p1ggm Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 kenneth melvile is a good garage, all work been done there on ma scoob, but from now on it will be going to AWD Grant is a top bloke who clearly knows his stuff bought a hks induction kit last week from him, and with the exeption of a ****ing fae the other half it has been a great investment also for discount if you a a member of www.scottishjapclub.co.uk...once it is up and running, you will recieve 10% discount on servicing and other stuff but if you want to know what garages to stay away from in the area pm me as i have had a post edited before...gggggggrrrrrrrrr not allowed to express opinoins on other subaru garages..... even thou i worked in one and seen the way they treated customers cars anyway rant over..... recomend both... but i am going to awd now
scoobykev Posted November 13, 2004 Author Posted November 13, 2004 cheers for the feedback. sorry can't make the 20th, cars booked in to AWD, how's that for crap timing, maybe next time the car has a sti5 rear wing and standard gold wheels, like to be different!! The standard green turbo in broughty ferry belongs to my sisters bloke
